About the position
The Wound Care Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for providing specialized nursing services and education related to Enterostomal therapy. This role involves consulting, assessing, planning, evaluating, and directing care for patients with various wound types, including stomas, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and incontinence care, ensuring safe and effective treatment for both inpatients and outpatients.
Responsibilities
- Consult with patients regarding wound care and management.
- Assess and evaluate patients' wound conditions and needs.
- Plan and implement individualized care plans for wound management.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care and prevention strategies.
- Direct and provide Enterostomal therapy nursing services.
- Manage care for patients with stomas, ulcers, and incontinence.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of Nursing with a BSN required.
- Current licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
- Graduate of an accredited Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program preferred.
- Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Certification preferred.
