About The Position

The Amherst-Regional Public School District is seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time Spanish World Language teaching opportunity at Amherst Regional Middle School, beginning at the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in acquiring introductory Spanish Language skills. Our department is committed to developing speaking and writing proficiency in all our students in accordance with ACTFL guidelines. Content will align with Spanish classes at the high school and prepare students for Level 2 Spanish language in 9th grade. Furthermore, the individual will create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that is conducive to learning, develops students’ academic, language, and social-emotional skills, and reflects the cultures of the student population. Successful candidates will effectively collaborate to meet diverse student needs.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in the following area: Academic Teacher, Foreign Language - Spanish, 5-12.
  • Provide a brief description of any experience that you feel will prove helpful in the work for which you are applying in your cover letter.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching in a middle school classroom is preferred.
