The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is at the forefront of innovation, collaboration, and digital transformation. Through our facilitation of the Digital Transformation Center (DTC), we foster partnerships among government, academic, and industry stakeholders to advance digital innovation and workforce development. We invite qualified candidates to apply for our Workforce Development Outreach Coordinator opening! We are seeking a dedicated and community-focused Workforce Development Outreach Coordinator to support relationships with academic institutions and non-profit organizations, with an emphasis on engaging non-traditional student populations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in workforce development and training programs, assisting in the coordination and implementation of initiatives hosted at the DTC in collaboration with partner organizations. They will help facilitate connections between DTC member companies and academic institutions, supporting opportunities such as internships, co-ops, and student worker roles that align with industry needs. This position plays a key role in empowering non-traditional communities, expanding technical skill sets, and fostering meaningful collaborations between academia and industry. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain partnerships with non-profit workforce development organizations, community leaders, and training programs to create pathways for non-traditional talent to engage with the DTC.
• Collaborate with non-profit organizations and workforce leaders to co-develop training and mentorship programs tailored to diverse populations, including those without traditional academic backgrounds.
• Support the implementation of innovative outreach strategies to connect underrepresented groups with hands-on learning opportunities, internships, and other experiential programs at the DTC.
• Assist in identifying skills gaps among non-traditional workforce populations and aligning training programs to address those gaps.
• Work closely with the Workforce Development Outreach Lead to track outcomes of programs aimed at broadening access to digital transformation-related careers.
• Coordinate events, workshops, and community engagement activities to increase awareness of DTC resources and opportunities for non-traditional workforce populations.
• Serve as a bridge between non-profit organizations and DTC member companies, facilitating connections and opportunities for student workers, interns, and apprentices.
• Represent the DTC in community forums and networking events to promote workforce diversity and inclusion efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Education, Social Work, Business, Technology, etc.) plus four years of experience OR a Master's degree plus three years of experience.
• Experience working with non-profits or workforce development organizations, particularly those focused on non-traditional workforce populations.
• Experience designing and implementing workforce development strategies and programs that serve a diverse population, including individuals of varying ages (from middle school students to adult learners) and backgrounds, including international communities.
• Passion for creating opportunities for underrepresented groups in workforce development.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Commitment to building an inclusive and equitable workforce.
• Strong networking skills and an ability to build relationships across community and organizational boundaries.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing or supporting programs for first-generation students, underrepresented groups, or alternative training pathways.
• Knowledge of workforce development trends and strategies, particularly in digital transformation and technology fields.
• Familiarity with innovative training methods, including non-traditional approaches such as apprenticeships, micro-certifications, and community-based programs.
