About the position

The Workers Compensation Claim Professional Trainee at Travelers is responsible for managing all aspects of workers compensation claims, providing support to injured employees and business insurance customers. This role involves developing technical skills in claim handling, including investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims. The position requires completion of training programs and obtaining relevant insurance licenses, with a focus on returning injured employees to work as soon as medically appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Complete virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training to prepare for the role.
  • Handle all aspects of a Workers Compensation claim under direct supervision.
  • Communicate and update all parties regarding claim status, including business customers and medical providers.
  • Investigate, develop, and evaluate action plans for claim resolution.
  • Assess coverage and determine compensability of claims under Workers Compensation.
  • Manage a Workers Compensation claim inventory, including filing and documentation.
  • Participate in Telephonic and/or onsite File Reviews.
  • Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) within three months of starting the job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of work or customer service-related experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED with one year of customer service experience.
