About The Position

As a national health solutions partner, Medavie puts people first in everything they do. They are looking for a Workday HRIS Analyst to join their HR Systems and Support team. This role is ideal for a collaborative, detail-oriented Workday professional who enjoys solving complex problems and improving the employee experience through technology. The HR Systems and Support team is part of Medavie Operations and supports modern HR and payroll systems that enable frontline healthcare operations and drive digital transformation. Medavie's work helps improve the wellbeing of Canadians through better systems, processes, and experiences for employees and leaders. The Workday HRIS Analyst will play a key role in supporting and optimizing the Workday platform, with a strong focus on Workday Absence Management. Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Absence in Workday is required. Candidates with Benefits and/or Payroll experience are of particular interest to support related processes and collaborate across connected areas of the platform.

Requirements

  • College diploma or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting Workday Absence Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience supporting Workday Benefits and/or Payroll configuration is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting ticket resolution and day to day operational support.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with system implementations, acquisitions or enhancements would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a multi-unionized environment would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related industry would be considered an asset.
  • Workday certification(s) would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and support Workday Absence Management, including leave plans, eligibility rules, accruals, validations, notifications, and related configuration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Absence-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and support timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Workday Absence functionality, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Apply any Benefits and/or Payroll configuration experience to support integrated solution design and cross-functional issue resolution.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements for enhancements, projects, and operational initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships and provide guidance on Workday capabilities and system functionality.
  • Assess impacts, manage priorities, and resolve issues effectively using strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for system enhancements, releases, and configuration changes.
  • Create and execute test scenarios and validate results.
  • Review and validate defect resolution activities.
  • Assess release impacts and support change readiness activities.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, compliance, and user experience.
  • Recommend and implement process and system improvements.
  • Create and maintain documentation, job aids, and knowledge resources to support consistency and user adoption.
