About the position
The Theatre Stage Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of rehearsals and performances. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication with the cast and crew. The Stage Manager will take detailed notes on blocking choices, ensure actors are prepared with their lines, and manage rehearsal schedules to accommodate any conflicts. The position demands availability during evenings and weekends, particularly during the performance weekends.
Responsibilities
- Take detailed notes about blocking choices during rehearsals.
- Be 'on book' to provide lines to actors after the 'off book' deadline.
- Call cues from the booth during tech and dress rehearsals as well as performances.
- Keep track of conflicts actors have with rehearsal times.
- Maintain records of on-time and late arrivals of actors to rehearsals.
- Communicate effectively with Dr. Roark and the cast regarding any conflicts or issues that may disrupt scheduled rehearsals.
