About the position

The Woodworker position at G.A. Richards Wood Operations involves the final preparation of wood products for shipment, ensuring quality and aesthetics through various finishing techniques. This full-time role requires proficiency in using hand tools and small power tools, as well as the ability to read and interpret job specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Finishing product by hand using a variety of hand tools including files, knives, hand routers, sandpaper, steel wool, and trimming devices.
• Repairing product as necessary using putty, bondo, wood filler, adhesives, markers, and crayon products.
• Checking parts for aesthetics and compliance with quality standards.
• Reading and comprehending job tickets, drawings, quality policies, procedures, and standards.
• Calibrating and using a tape measure, setting up, adjusting, and using small power tools such as routers and drills.
• Inspecting product to ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintaining inventory for all finishing supplies and requisitioning replenishment as required.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
• Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Occasional sitting and ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
