About The Position

Kith Women’s is looking for a Women’s Sweaters/Knitwear designer to join their team. This individual will be focused on sweaters and knitwear, within the Women's Design team. They must have 3-5 years of experience in apparel design, specifically in sweater construction, be knowledgeable of the brand identity and be willing to work on site 5 days a week. The ideal candidate is a team player, accountable, and highly organized. They also possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of the business in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in apparel design, specifically in knitwear, Womenswear specific is a plus.
  • Knitwear and sweaters product category knowledge and construction knowledge in base layer, mid and outer layer across tops, bottoms and dresses
  • Experience and proficiency in executing production comments.
  • Experience and proficiency in executing tech packs across multiple collections in both development and production on the day to to day.
  • Extremely organized, detail oriented, and analytical.
  • Contributes positively to team dynamic.
  • Highly knowledgeable of construction and experienced in the following product categories: knitwear, bottoms, dresses and 1 pc dressing.
  • Strong computer sketching skills in illustrator.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Must be flexible to adapt to these changing business needs or special projects.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Create illustrator sketches based on allotted assortment per season.
  • Prepare complete tech packs across all product categories, in sketch, construction and upload onto development platform with complete BOMs.
  • Responsible for supporting design director in execution of women’s product from sketch to techpack through development into bulk production.
  • Process/correspondence production comments through illustrator, PLM platform and email.
  • Attend bi-weekly fittings and taking notes, and following up with production matters, and processing comments per style.
  • Routinely update all master files, sketches and organize shared drives.
  • Capable of managing weekly design presentation tools across designated product categories.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in email etiquette for internal and external emails to suppliers overseas.
  • Highly organized and meets given deadlines.
  • Capable of maintaining positive and professional working relationships with cross functional team members and departments.
  • Capable of building market research reports, across designated product categories that pertain and are inline with KITH brand identity.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of developing artwork logo developments, trim developments and building trim development charts per season.
  • Capable of building construction specific pages for development and finishing details for their respective product categories.
