About the position

The Domain Architect for the Navy's Wireless Networking and Passive Infrastructure at Leidos is responsible for leading the development and execution of WLAN and mobile networking strategies to support the Navy's mission. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in network architecture and engineering, along with strong leadership skills to guide teams in delivering innovative solutions for one of the largest private Intranets in the world. The position demands a proactive approach to technology roadmaps, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Apply WLAN, mobile networking, and passive infrastructure Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to the Navy's IT services program.
  • Lead the development of WLAN and mobile networking solutions and strategies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of DoD and Navy network policies and directives.
  • Conduct trade studies and analyses of alternatives for network infrastructure architecture.
  • Identify technology and solution roadmaps to improve mission capabilities.
  • Define technology roadmaps and communicate architecture vision to stakeholders.
  • Support the SMIT PMO team in technical solutions, RFP responses, and new business strategies.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and processes for successful customer outcomes.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to program team members.
  • Participate in the Leidos SMIT Engineering Review Board.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM or relevant field, or comparable experience with 12 years of experience, or a Master of Science degree with 10 years of experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Currently possess and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required prior to onboarding.
  • Expert knowledge of WLAN architecture, specifically Aruba Networks WLAN solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking, ports, protocols, and the OSI model.
  • Extensive knowledge of WLAN and mobile networking concepts and management tools.
  • Experience presenting to client stakeholders and company management.

Nice-to-haves

  • 20+ years of IT experience in multiple technical disciplines within DoD environment.
  • Unified Communications experience highly desired.
  • Advanced Agile or ITIL certifications.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) III and Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III certifications.
  • Applicable Domain-Specific, Advanced-level Technology certification such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $122,200.00 - $220,900.00 based on experience and qualifications.
