About the position

Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Three vibrant, pedestrian-friendly village areas host lodging, retail outlets, restaurants, bars, and family activities. During the winter months, Copper's world-class terrain offers skiing and riding for all ages and abilities. Each summer, the mountain transforms into a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and anyone seeking a genuine Colorado experience. Copper Mountain Resort is also home to Woodward Copper action-sports camps, programs, and training facility. The Youth Ski and Ride School Supervisor position is a full-time, seasonal role primarily focused on overseeing youth group lessons and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily and seasonal staffing needs to maintain targeted class averages and engage employee and guest experiences.
  • Monitor classes to ensure staff are creating memorable experiences through effective teaching and guest service delivery.
  • Maintain a high level of accessibility, profile, and visibility with employees.
  • Handle inquiries and complaints professionally, determining appropriate compensation when necessary.
  • Implement training initiatives for new hires and returning staff.
  • Facilitate maintenance and upkeep of ski and ride school meeting areas.
  • Safely operate a snowmobile and supervise Flaik GPS operations.
  • Report accidents/incidents and provide training to reduce guest/instructor incidents.
  • Coordinate daily staffing schedules and manage employee documentation.

Requirements

  • Current Level 2 PSIA/AASI (or equivalent) certification.
  • 3 years of experience in the snow sports industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and ski to all locations on the mountain.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice-to-haves

  • Level 3 PSIA/AASI Certification preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in the snow sports industry.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
