About the position

Link Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Windows System Administrator (Intermediate-Level) to join our team in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Must be a US Citizen. Active DoD Secret Clearance required. Non-remote (relocation incentive available) Sunday - Wednesday. The Windows System Administrator will support the Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) on Fort Huachuca. You will manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems. You will work across many teams and high-level managers in the organization to design, lead, manage, maintain, track assets, deploy, implement, troubleshoot, and support the workforce environment. You will provide on-site support to ensure all network capabilities are available. Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 1 and 2 support to a global information system.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Set up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintain system documentation.
  • Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware/software, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
  • Provide advice and training to end-users.
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
  • Two (2+) years or more of directly related experience in systems administration or a similar role.
  • Experience managing and maintaining computers on various operating systems.
  • Experience providing tier 1 and 2 support, setting up administrator and service accounts, and ensuring the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Computing environment certification in VMware (VCP-DCV) or Cisco (CCNP-DC) within 60 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.
  • IAT Level III Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, etc.).
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) servers experience.
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Experience providing quality service and support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
