About The Position

The Window Administrator serves as a subject matter expert on Gentek’s window and door product offerings, as well as industry terminology. This role acts as a trusted resource for customers, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient support for all quotations and order processing activities. Gentek is a leading manufacturer and distributor of vinyl/aluminum siding, windows, and other exterior home improvement building products with a history of product excellence and innovation spanning over 55 years.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, including the ability to interpret alphanumeric sequences
  • Proficient in computer systems and order entry platforms

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education
  • Experience in windows and doors
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Previous experience in the building or construction industry

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process accurate, timely quotations for windows and doors for lumberyards and contractors
  • Enter and manage customer orders using Gentek systems (e.g., BAP, Windows Express)
  • Monitor order status and proactively communicate product availability and delivery timelines to customers
  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge, including the ability to identify and differentiate between various window and door types
  • Accurately interpret measurements, handing, and finish specifications
  • Distinguish between standard and custom order configurations
  • Apply product compatibility rules to ensure all orders are valid and buildable
  • Professionally greet and assist customers in person and over the phone
  • Respond to inquiries regarding Gentek’s window and door products and related services
  • Provide alternative solutions when requested products are unavailable
  • Analyze order and customer data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for process improvement
