About the position

The Math Instructor at Winburn Middle School is responsible for teaching middle school mathematics to students, fostering their development into responsible individuals. The role involves planning and delivering lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, creating a conducive learning environment, and assessing student progress regularly.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for lessons.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs of students.
• Implements the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals.
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and seeks assistance from district specialists as needed.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct.
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order in a fair manner.
• Makes provisions for availability to students and parents outside instructional hours.
• Plans and supervises assignments for instructional aides and evaluates their performance.
• Maintains and improves professional competence.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
• Maintains regular attendance and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in field of assignment (minimum requirement).
• Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification for area and grade level of assignment.

• Full-time position with a salary range of $51.1K - $64.7K per year.
