About The Position

The Part-Time Welding Instructor is responsible for course content and syllabi for all assigned courses. Each instructor will provide effective instruction in all classes by implementing active learning strategies and focusing on student learning outcomes. This position is supervised by the Director of Occupational Extension in collaboration with the Program Head of Welding. Instructional personnel should be aware of the need to continue personal and professional growth necessary to perform their duties. Individuals assigned to this job may be asked to perform other duties as required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Two years of prior welding experience in GTAW, GMAW and SMAW.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching assigned Introduction to Welding classes
  • Assisting with all instructional activities such as maintaining class records, syllabi, objectives, tests, and lesson plans
  • Developing, maintaining, and evaluating educational materials
  • Assist Director and Program Head with ordering appropriate instructional supplies & welding materials needed for classes
  • Assessing student learning outcomes and demonstrating the use of the results to make improvements to the course/program
  • Experimenting with innovative teaching techniques, and other duties as assigned.
