The position involves performing a variety of welding to complete structural repair and fabrication on various vehicles and equipment, designing and fabricating metal components, inspecting and performing routine maintenance, analyzing failures, and advising staff on metal repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding using arc, MIG, and gas welding procedures on light and heavy equipment.
- Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Analyze failures and recommend solutions to prevent future issues.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, factory diagrams, and blueprints.
- Maintain a neat and orderly welding work area free of safety hazards.
- Plan and organize daily work routine and estimate completion times.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with employees and the public.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of welding procedures, tools, and equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety regulations related to welding.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations.
- Experience with standard welding and shop tools.
