BAE Systems is hiring a Welder at our Aiken, SC location. The Welder will be responsible for setting up and operating welding equipment to MIG, TIG, or spot weld parts to blueprint specifications. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with various tools and equipment to ensure high-quality welds. The Welder will load and unload parts onto the weld table and fixtures using hand tools, ratchets, or air tools to secure parts to fixtures. Checking parts to quality specifications is a critical part of the job, as is troubleshooting problems and recommending or taking corrective action when necessary. The Welder will also be responsible for moving parts, materials, containers, and fixtures to and from storage areas using hoists, pallet jacks, or forklifts. Completing paperwork for work orders, labor, time reporting, quality records, and related reporting requirements is also part of the job. Maintaining a clean and safe work area is essential, and the Welder may be required to train others and perform other duties as necessary and appropriate for this position. Welders who do not pass our weld certification test will be eligible to participate in our weld training program to become certified.
