About the position

The Welder position involves applying appropriate welding techniques to fabricate or repair compactors, containers, and carts under general supervision. The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and adherence to established procedures while providing essential services to maintain equipment functionality.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and apply basic welding processes.
• Repair compactors, containers, and carts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnostics on electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Utilize various welding processes including arc welding, gas welding, aluminum welding, brazing, and soft soldering.
• Conduct safety checks on compactors and containers.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software for repairs and parts usage.
• Assist senior welders in project work and perform service calls for compactor repair.
• Perform related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, forming, and notching of metal and plastic parts.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.

Requirements

• 2 years of previous welding experience required.
• Basic skills in welding techniques and knowledge of safety procedures.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment used in the repair and servicing of compactors, containers, and carts.
• Ability to utilize fleet maintenance software.
