About the position
The WebSphere Commerce Server Developer (WCS) role is focused on leveraging advanced technical and functional expertise in WebSphere Commerce to support retail e-commerce initiatives. The position requires extensive experience in WCS development, particularly in version 8.x, and involves responsibilities from requirements analysis through deployment and transition to support. The developer will work in a hybrid environment, spending three days in the office and will be expected to optimize application performance and ensure robust application architecture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement solutions using WebSphere Commerce (WCS) Version 8.x.
- Conduct requirements analysis and transition to support post-deployment.
- Optimize application performance through Java performance tuning and JVM monitoring.
- Troubleshoot performance issues and provide solutions for optimization.
- Package and deploy Java applications using WebSphere Application Server.
- Test Java and web-based applications, including unit, integration, and system testing.
- Work with various WCS subsystems such as Trading, Catalog Management, and Order Management.
- Utilize DB2 for database management and SQL execution.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on WebSphere Commerce.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in WCS 8.x development in the retail e-commerce space.
- Strong knowledge of Java performance tuning and holiday readiness.
- Experience with JVM monitoring and diagnostics for application performance.
- Good understanding of memory management, multi-threading, and connection pooling.
- Proficiency in J2EE architecture and development including Servlets, EJBs, JMS, and JSP.
- Deep hands-on experience with WCS subsystems and the WCS run-time framework.
- Experience in application architecture, design, development, testing, and documentation.
- Familiarity with object-oriented principles and concepts.
- Experience in multi-tiered and multi-server application architecture.
