About The Position

This position is part of the Storm Water Services Communications Team and is primarily responsible for successful implementation of website and digital content that supports Storm Water Services’ mission and strategic priorities. The hourly rate for this position is $25.55 - $28.38 commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent with three (3) years direct experience OR 2 Year College Degree in communications, public relations, web one (1) year digital design or directly related field
  • Knowledge of web design and site management practices, including HTML, CSS, content management systems (such as OpenCities and SharePoint), SEO, WCAG AA/AAA accessibility standards, and general web best practices.
  • Proficient in remediating PDFs and digital documents by applying proper tagging, reading order correction, alternative text, and accessibility metadata to ensure full compliance with ADA and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Established experience performing daily website management tasks with accuracy, strong attention to detail, and limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Monsido) and the ability to interpret data to support decision‑making.
  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Excellent proofreading skills with proficiency in AP style.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with team members and other staff across the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and perform effectively in fast‑paced, deadline-driven, and collaborative environments.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to emerging technologies.
  • Successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and ability to receive and maintain a City Driving Permit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and update content for Storm Water Services’ public website and employee intranet, ensuring accuracy, effective communication, strong formatting and design, and alignment with branding and organizational goals.
  • Oversee quality, consistency, and functionality of web content, including managing website imagery, web forms, electronic documents, links, cross-browser performance, metadata, and accessibility requirements.
  • Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
  • Create and remediate digital documents and PDFs by adding tags, alternative text, and accessible structures to ensure compliance with ADA and WCAG accessibility guidelines.
  • Maintain documentation for website content and procedures, track and resolve technical issues promptly, and manage archiving of web-based data for compliance with public records laws.
  • Collaborate with Communications Team members on routine content reviews, accessibility improvements, and user experience enhancements.
  • Monitor and report on site metrics and performance indicators, recommending and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Serve as the Digital ADA Liaison for Storm Water Services and lead for the electronic newsletter and form platform, producing various communications.
  • Stay current with evolving web technologies, accessibility standards, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
