About the position

Ardurra is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our staff in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will manage and work on a variety of water/wastewater projects including but not limited to water/wastewater treatment plants. The Project Manager will serve as the Engineer of Record and technical lead for his/her own projects, in most cases. This position requires excellent communication skills as you will be interacting with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the successful completion of projects. You will be responsible for developing project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules based on initial feedback from clients, and negotiating any revisions or changes to the work during the course of the project. Your primary duties will include managing the budget and schedule for multiple engineering projects, overseeing and coordinating the activities of the project team, and preparing or reviewing technical engineering specifications and cost estimates. You will also provide feedback to junior engineering staff on standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, and assist with project pursuits and proposal preparation. This role requires a strong ability to work efficiently within predetermined project budgets and schedules, and to function effectively within a project team environment. Responsibilities

  • Managing the budget and schedule for multiple engineering projects.
  • Serving as the Engineer of Record and technical lead for projects.
  • Communicating with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and other professionals as required for project completion.
  • Developing project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules based on client feedback.
  • Negotiating revisions and changes to project work during its course.
  • Assisting other Project Managers in the allocation of junior engineering and production staff on active projects.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the activities of the project team.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing technical engineering specifications and cost estimates.
  • Providing feedback to junior engineering staff on design engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Providing direction and feedback to field personnel on construction requirements and visiting construction sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 10 years of related experience in water/wastewater.
  • State of Texas PE license required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills for engineering reports and studies.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently or with minimal instruction.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a predetermined project budget and schedule.
  • Ability to function efficiently within a project team environment.
