About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Water Engineer Intern to join their Water Business Line in Middletown, CT or East Greenwich, RI. This role will be heavily involved in fieldwork in New London, CT. The intern will be responsible for overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with national standards, codes of practice, and project specifications. The company focuses on protecting natural environments and water resources while powering the world for future generations, addressing challenges like climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity loss.

Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
Client-facing skills.
Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
A self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible individual.
High degree of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and thoroughness in all aspects of analysis and execution.

Responsibilities

Overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with national standards, codes of practice, and project specifications.
Involvement in planning, process evaluations, detailed design, and construction administration of water infrastructure projects.
Conducting site visits and observing construction activities.
Capturing historical data from plans and other documentation.
Applying data analytics to capture and record information.
Preparing and delivering effective presentations.
Participating in client meetings.
Interacting with clients and subcontractors in the field.
Working on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously.
Taking on new projects and challenges regularly.
