We are currently seeking an Water Engineer Intern to join our Water Business Line in our Middletown, CT or East Greenwich, RI office. This position will be heavily involved in fieldwork in New London, CT. The intern responsible for overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with national standards, codes of practice, and project specifications. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Client-facing skills.
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented, and flexible individual who possesses the initiative and ability to take on new projects and challenges regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and inspecting construction projects to ensure compliance with national standards, codes of practice, and project specifications.
  • Involvement in planning, process evaluations, detailed design, and construction administration.
  • Conducting site visits and observing construction activities.
  • Capturing historical data from plans and other documentation and applying data analytics to capture and record this information.
  • Preparing and delivering effective presentations.
  • Participating in client meetings.
  • Interacting with clients and subcontractors in the field.
  • Ability to work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously, with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and thoroughness in all aspects of analysis and execution.
