About the position

The Wastewater Process Lead Engineer at Kennedy Jenks Consultants is a key role responsible for overseeing wastewater treatment processes to ensure efficiency, compliance with regulations, and environmental responsibility. This position involves applying advanced engineering techniques, managing projects from planning through construction, and supporting business development efforts in the wastewater sector. The role is based in Southern California and offers a hybrid work model, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the technical expert focusing on wastewater process projects across California and the organization.
  • Apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis for solution development.
  • Effectively communicate with all stakeholders and levels.
  • Manage projects focused on detailed design and project management of civil infrastructure projects, including wastewater treatment processes and plants.
  • Design and optimize wastewater treatment processes to maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
  • Manage projects from the planning phase through construction.
  • Support business development and help identify and develop new water/wastewater pursuits.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive relevant wastewater experience.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering; advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the water/wastewater industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients.
  • Experience with business development and sales.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
