About the position
Our warehouse operations ensure that products are properly received, selected, and delivered to our stores for our ever-growing number of customers to enjoy. On average, our warehouse employees work less than 30 hours per week. Our teams are comprised of hardworking, dedicated individuals who work in both ambient and temperature-controlled areas. A thorough and comprehensive training and safety program provide the skills our associates need to be successful. This part-time position offers a starting wage of $21.00 per hour and requires individuals who can perform their duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The role involves selecting and receiving incoming stock efficiently to fulfill orders received from stores. Employees will relocate merchandise throughout the warehouse according to product handling guidelines, sort, organize, and load merchandise strategically in preparation for shipment, and unload incoming shipments from trucks. General cleaning duties are also part of the job to maintain warehouse appearance standards and safety requirements. Participation in warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines is expected, along with effective communication and cooperation with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership. Warehouse associates will provide input to management regarding process improvements, inspect products, and consult with management on quality, safety, and sanitation issues. The position requires independent decision-making within the delegated area of responsibility and assisting management in achieving budgeted goals. All tasks must be performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and procedures, including following ergonomic programs and operating equipment safely.
Responsibilities
- Selects and receives incoming stock efficiently to fulfill orders from stores.
- Relocates merchandise throughout the warehouse according to product handling guidelines.
- Sorts, organizes, and loads merchandise strategically in preparation for shipment.
- Unloads incoming shipments from trucks/back-hauls.
- Performs general cleaning duties to achieve warehouse appearance standards and safety requirements.
- Participates in warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines.
- Cooperates and interacts effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership through ongoing communication.
- Provides input to warehouse management regarding changes to improve processes.
- Inspects product and consults with management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
- Acts and decides independently within the delegated area of responsibility.
- Assists warehouse management in achieving budgeted goals.
- Performs all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within company policy and procedures.
- Follows the ergonomic program according to established procedures.
- Operates equipment according to safety guidelines in performance of essential job functions.
- Notifies management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skill in performing basic arithmetic equations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is a plus.
- Familiarity with safety protocols in a warehouse environment.
