About the position

The 2nd Shift Distribution Supervisor is a salaried leadership position responsible for the timely, accurate and efficient processing of workflow through an assigned area. They will be largely focused on receiving, picking, packing, and shipping warehousing functions within the Retail and DTC distribution environment. Qualified candidates will need to possess working knowledge of an automated warehouse system, achieve key process and operational cost improvements in accordance with established company policies and procedures and foster a safe team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise up to 50 associates.
  • Achieves continual process improvement focusing on accuracy, customer value proposition, order flow/processing schedules, inventory, and expense management.
  • Differentiate performance by coaching, training, and mentoring staff to continuously improve workforce effectiveness.
  • Write and administer annual Associate performance evaluations and conduct regular career development and performance conversations.
  • Monitor and track labor productivity and key performance indicators to improve performance versus prior year and plan objectives.
  • Eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies, demonstrating strong judgment skills in scheduling, expediting, planning, and coaching.
  • Obtain strong knowledge of Warehouse Control/Order Management system (Manhattan Warehouse Management System).
  • Utilize WCS to eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies.
  • Promote safety leadership by protecting the health and welfare of the Company's associates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Operations Management) preferred or 5 plus years of related work experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with warehouse and distribution management software is required. Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management System preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement and driving change.
  • Ability to analyze forecasting and make well-supported recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Thorough understanding of policies and procedures relative to customer service.
  • Experience in communicating and addressing issues to senior management.
