Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and secure work environment
  • Operate using Proxyclick and security applications to validate driver check-in details, paperwork, MC details if needed and verify seal quality in/out.
  • Maintain and review truck inventory and conduct seal checks for loaded trucks.
  • Validate the temp setting of reefer equipment matches the paperwork on the way in/out of the facility.
  • Maintain warehouse procedures, guard shack procedures and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and professional facility
  • Work with team to ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe operational condition
  • Manage gate security in/out of facility
  • Communicate and facilitate with operations and 3rd party labor to efficiently place drivers in correct empty dock doors.
  • Reinforce safety - chock usage, no idling and implementation of airlocks if necessary.
  • Provide input and support potential equipment procurement and maintenance, and facility repair.
  • Maintain a visual presence at guard shack or roaming grounds to deter potential suspicious activity.
  • Write clear and thorough reports regarding any suspicious activity and flag to management team.
  • Preventively patrol property for any suspicious activity, security threats, and de-escalate or handle stressful situations as they arise.
  • Contact law enforcement or the fire department for extreme situations based on SOP.
  • Reasonably detain people suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
  • Ensure exit of refused drivers, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Validate event update when driver arrives/departs the facility using TWMS or e.tms/cfit directly and other operational event management regarding freight movement in/out of the facility.
  • Support the processes in the area of responsibility, following operational standards (OPS) and KPI expectations related to the safety and security of the guard shack, yard and Carteret facility.
  • Improve safety, quality, delivery and security with team through continuous improvement methods.
  • Manage, prevent, and resolve truck inventory exceptions or issues.
  • Support and escalate supply chain security incidents and investigations where needed (inclusive of seal anomalies, facility damage, near misses regarding unsafe driving, etc.).
  • Support daily, weekly and monthly safety and security walkthroughs and checklist reviews with team members - escalating any facility issues or opportunities immediately.
  • Support bi-annual process audits to ensure security and safety of people, facility, and freight.

Requirements

  • Team leadership, customer service, operations, security/safety
  • Implementation of Security, Health & Safety requirements
  • Ability to learn TWMS and Proxyclick warehouse management system used in facility & supporting technology
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong aptitude and developing interest in Safety and Security/Warehouse operations or prior security, law enforcement experience OR military background
  • Customer Service background
  • Multi-lingual ability would be helpful when working with drivers, etc. but not required
