About the position
The Warehouse Position at Omaha Steaks is a full-time role located in Omaha, NE, where employees are integral to maintaining the quality and safety of the products that the company is known for. Employees will be responsible for placing products in coolers, affixing labels to containers, and ensuring that the correct items are packed for shipment. In this position, employees will visually inspect products, coolers, and packaging for cleanliness and defects, which is crucial to prevent the delivery of damaged goods. The role also includes lifting dry ice, verifying weights, and placing dry ice into appropriate coolers. Employees must be able to distinguish between different shipping modes and affix the correct labels to packages. Quality control is a significant aspect of this job, as employees will perform inspections to ensure that orders are accurate and properly presented. Any packing errors must be rectified promptly, and coolers should be inspected regularly to maintain high standards. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with the possibility of weekend shifts depending on sales. Employees are expected to work from 5:30 a.m. until finish, with a special note that after July 4th, there may be opportunities for 4-day work weeks leading up to the holiday season. Responsibilities
- Place product in cooler and affix label to container, ensuring customer receives correct item(s) and that the item(s) are properly packed.
- Maintain company safety policies and follow them at all times.
- Visually inspect product, cooler, packaging, and dry ice for cleanliness and defects.
- Follow proper procedures to reduce or eliminate product damage.
- Lift dry ice from bins to scale and verify weights.
- Place dry ice from conveyor into proper size coolers.
- Reject defective dry ice as determined by weight, specifications, and packaging.
- Distinguish between different package ship modes and affix appropriate shipper labels.
- Perform quality control inspections of cooler to ensure that orders are correct and properly presented.
- Record any packing errors and ensure the correct product or premium is placed in the cooler.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to understand and follow directions accurately.
- 6 months of warehouse experience preferred.
