About the position

The Warehouse Material Handler Lead is responsible for overseeing the warehouse area, ensuring proper material handling services for shipping and receiving activities. This role involves maintaining an orderly warehouse environment, ensuring safety compliance, and leading a team of Material Handlers. The position requires flexibility in working hours and a commitment to safety and efficiency in all operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
• Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly.
• Perform material handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities.
• Oversee the operation of forklifts and walkies, ensuring safety at all times.
• Properly receive, unload, and load shipments in/out of the Cross Dock.
• Verify orders are complete and accurate.
• Unload, load, and pick each customer order effectively to minimize shipping costs and ensure product safety.
• Learn day-to-day warehouse operations and assist with other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• 2-4 years in a warehouse environment.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Lean Warehousing.
• Experience operating material handling equipment and using an RF scanner.
• Ability to work as part of a team and lead.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

• Warehousing certifications.
• Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders.
• Experience in cross docking freight process.
