About the position

As a Warehouse & Material Handler Clerk at Zelis, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and production processes. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving and checking incoming shipments of materials, verifying their quantity and quality against packing slips, and notifying the Production Manager or supervisor of any discrepancies. You will also be responsible for properly shrink-wrapping and labeling outgoing mail shipments, creating packing slips, and addressing any issues with outgoing mail. Maintaining a clean and organized production and warehouse area is essential, as you will be tasked with removing and preparing recycle containers for pickup, stacking and banding cardboard skids, and disposing of pallets and trash containers daily. In addition to these duties, you will support production staff by pulling materials needed for letter-shop production based on operator requests and notifying the Production Supervisor of any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions. Adhering to all standard operating procedures, HIPAA, compliance, and safety guidelines is critical in this role. You will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse operations. To succeed in this position, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent GED, with previous experience in a letter-shop production environment and warehouse operations being preferred. Basic computer skills, the ability to read and interpret safety documents, and a strong mechanical aptitude are also important. You will need to demonstrate adaptability, teamwork, energy, time management, quality orientation, safety awareness, and effective communication skills. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting 50 lbs or more, and maintaining good attendance while being willing to work overtime during busy periods.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and checks incoming shipments of materials and other items.
  • Verifies quantity, quality and accurate contents of incoming shipments with packing slips.
  • Notifies Production Manager or supervisor of any quality issues, discrepancies in quantity or inaccuracies of received shipment.
  • Properly shrink wraps and labels outgoing mail shipments and creates packing slips.
  • Notifies Production Manager or supervisor of any discrepancies with outgoing mail.
  • Removes and prepares all recycle containers for pick up.
  • Stacks and bands cardboard skids, compresses and removes all full pallet boxes of paper from letter-shop production when required.
  • Removes and disposes of pallets and trash containers daily.
  • Sweeps and maintains a clean and organized production and warehouse area.
  • Pulls materials needed for letter-shop production based on operator requests.
  • Notifies Production Supervisor of any safety concerns, mechanical needs or equipment malfunctions.
  • Supports production staff as needed.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies, department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required.
  • Any previous experience in Letter-shop production environment preferred.
  • Any previous warehouse, forklift, pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
