About the position
Ryder is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Material Handler for a permanent full-time position in Aberdeen, MD. The role involves working in a safe supply chain environment with state-of-the-art equipment, handling various products, primarily appliances. Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operation.
- Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
- Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment, such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
- Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during production hours.
- Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
- Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
- Highly thorough and dependable with good attendance record.
- Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with powered industrial equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks.
