About the position
The Warehouse Operations Supervisor at Performance Foodservice is responsible for directing all warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving products. This role ensures the accurate and timely flow of products through the warehouse while supervising a team of associates. The supervisor promotes safety, efficiency, and professionalism within the warehouse environment, working closely with other departments to meet customer needs and maintain inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Supervises associates including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
- Ensures staff maintains professionalism, competency, and motivation through selection, development, and ongoing evaluation.
- Promotes safety through reinforcement of safety programs, safety meetings, and discussions of workers' compensation costs.
- Works closely with the Transportation Manager to ensure operational efficiency.
- Oversees the proper unloading/loading of trucks and manages workload scheduling.
- Reviews stock status reports and coordinates with inventory staff for accurate inventory counts.
- Communicates stock shortages and available substitutes to Customer Service Representatives and other relevant personnel.
- Supervises maintenance and repair activities for building and equipment.
- Maintains knowledge of standardized operating procedures and ensures compliance among staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 4-6 years of warehouse and team lead or supervisory experience
- In-depth knowledge of all warehouse operations
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, or a related area
- 6-10 years of warehouse experience in the foodservice industry
- Supervisory experience
- OSHA Forklift operator certificate
