About the position

The Logistics Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the logistics operations on a rotating 3rd shift schedule from 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM. This role involves ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and customer service within the warehouse environment. The Team Lead will support a zero-rating facility, manage inventory movements, and communicate effectively with various teams. They will also be accountable for the performance metrics tied to their team's scorecard and will supervise a team of 5-23 associates. The position requires a hands-on approach, as the Team Lead is expected to be present on the floor during their shift, performing forklift-related tasks when not engaged in leadership duties.

Responsibilities

  • Support a zero-rating facility by filling out incident reports and conducting incident investigations.
  • Ensure quality product delivery and limit product damage through process improvements.
  • Analyze LMS data to identify performance and process-related gaps and generate solutions.
  • Ensure timely movement of inventory to appropriate warehouses for orders.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and coach associates on correct processes.
  • Communicate clearly and timely with direct reports, management, and other departments.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management, including forklift work.

  • Contribute to a cooperative working effort by performing other job-related work as needed.
  • Accountable for the metrics tied to the team's scorecard.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years warehousing experience.
  • Solid understanding of Supply Chain flows through a business.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or higher preferred (or pursuing).
  • Strong leadership, verbal, written, analytical, mathematical, reasoning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, and SPC/SQC tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, and FDA regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with Self Directed and/or High-Performance Work teams.
  • Proficiency with PCs, including Microsoft Office and JD Edwards.
  • Understanding of preventative and operator basic care maintenance.
  • Flexibility in schedule.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a high-paced working environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of personalities.
  • Knowledge of packaging and paper converting equipment is a plus.
  • Good attendance record.
