About the position
The Warehouse Forklift/Letdown Operator at KeHE is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products within the distribution center. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring that products are handled safely and efficiently. The position offers a competitive pay structure with guaranteed pay for the first 60 days and performance-based increases thereafter. Responsibilities
- Receive, store, and distribute materials and products within the distribution center.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, and shipping orders to determine items to be moved or distributed.
- Stock and restock products in proper locations, including overhead locations.
- Rotate stock according to date coding.
- Become proficient with NTS on both handheld and screen mount Telxons.
- Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Receive, record, put away, and rotate products.
- Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
- Use computer and/or Radio Frequency Unit to record and track products.
- Maintain good attendance and safe work practices.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere, including receiving, pulling orders, packing, and shipping preferred.
- Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to communicate well with internal customers and management.
- Ability to follow safe working practices, as instructed.
- Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Specialist, or similar roles.
- Familiarity with order picking and processing.
