About The Position

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for supervising the daily activity of Material Handlers, assisting the Supervisor in coordinating workflow, and reviewing orders and notices to determine work sequences. This role involves assigning work, monitoring productivity, and ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, and safety. The Lead will also conduct team talks, plan assignments, coordinate operations to ensure on-time deliveries, and promote a safe work environment by educating team members and ensuring compliance with policies, safety regulations, and SOPs. Additionally, the position requires maintaining a clean and orderly facility, minimizing product damage, coaching and counseling team members, and making recommendations for operational improvements. The role also involves driving vehicles or operating machinery, performing various material handling duties with a lift truck, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards.

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • One (1) year related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP.
  • Valid Drivers’ License; Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

  • Assigns work and monitors productivity to ensure high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping, product damage minimization, safety and overall efficiency.
  • Conducts team talks or start-up meetings in conjunction with Supervisors.
  • Plans assignments, coordinates and monitors operations within the warehouse to ensure on-time deliveries are achieved, reducing irregularities and damage.
  • Ensures safety in work processes and Team Member performance by supporting company and/or facility safety programs, by educating Team Members, and by ensuring a generally safe work environment.
  • Communicates policies, safety regulations and SOPs to Team Members; follows-up to ensure compliance and consistency; assists in corrective action as necessary and documents the issue and actions taken.
  • Ensures that facility is maintained clean and in an orderly fashion.
  • Ensures that product damage is kept to a minimum.
  • Coaches and counsels Team Members regarding company culture and expectations, job performance, methods of performing job tasks and safety.
  • Informs Supervisor of all operating issues and problems and makes recommendations for corrective action to ensure quality warehouse operations and customer service.

  • Drives vehicles or operates machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers.
  • Makes recommendations on improving work procedures, building efficiency, customer service levels, work conditions, quality of product and minimizing expenses.
  • Operates a lift truck performing various material handling duties in the facility as requested by Operations Manager of Shift Supervisor.
  • Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Performs all duties in conformance with the correct food safety, SQF, and/or USDA requirements, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
