About the position

The Inventory Management Attendant at Ryder is responsible for managing inbound products and supporting warehouse operations in a safe and efficient manner. This role involves using state-of-the-art equipment and ensuring that all tasks are completed according to company policies and procedures. The position offers a full-time schedule with competitive pay and benefits, emphasizing safety and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Package, kit and/or assemble orders and materials.
  • Load and unload inbound/outbound trailers.
  • Ensure all scanning is completed correctly.
  • Help train dock employees on new procedures.
  • Ensure facility is secure at end of shift; investigate/resolve scanning issues and housekeeping.
  • Perform picking and packing duties.
  • Check for evidence of product or container damage.
  • Perform material moves with associated physical/logical transactions as required.
  • Participate in workgroup and other team activities for the purpose of self-improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions.
  • Perform housekeeping duties for assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six months of related warehouse experience required.
  • One (1) year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks, such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks.
  • Must have a clean driving record and able to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
  • Comfortable using a computer for data entry.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and do basic mathematics in English for safety and work instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Powered industrial truck certification.
  • Experience with manual and/or automated warehouse/manufacturing equipment (such as a packaging line).
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
