Warehouse Coordinator - 1st Shift

About the position

The Warehouse Coordinator/Shipping Clerk is responsible for directing the daily activities of a warehouse or account, including labor scheduling and proper utilization of space and equipment as directed by the Distribution Manager. This full-time position operates on a schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and offers a wage of $19.00 per hour. The role emphasizes a customer-first approach, high business ethics, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule all distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities.
• Understand customer contract requirements and ensure SOP and customer work instructions are followed.
• Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.
• Motivate and lead the team to achieve stated objectives.
• Assist the Distribution Manager in training and cross-training of employees.
• Ensure current and accurate inventory control for each account.
• Follow food/safety SOPs and AIB standards.
• Report equipment and facility building/grounds damage and repairs.
• Drive a culture of safety throughout the company to achieve safety goals and objectives.
• Ensure all departments’ equipment and overall appearance is maintained as defined by the company.
• Interface directly with customers and maintain a professional and courteous relationship.
• Communicate company information via pre-shift meetings as directed by the Distribution Manager.

Requirements

• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of WMS and Microsoft Outlook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
• Ability to use handheld RF Scan Device.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to twist, squat, and reach above shoulder level.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
