About the position
The Warehouse Associate position at G.W. Van Keppel Co. involves various responsibilities related to the shipping and receiving of goods, inventory management, and customer service. Responsibilities
- Greet or acknowledge all customers and direct them to the correct department.
- Pull orders and fulfill requisitions for outbound shipping, stock transfers, will calls, or service orders.
- Process inbound shipping by opening boxes and crates, sorting parts, and placing them on shelves according to part numbers.
- Inform management of any stock outages or discrepancies immediately.
- Participate in cycle counts and maintain clean bin organization.
- Pack and crate items in preparation for shipping and distribution.
- Load orders onto vehicles by hand, forklift, and hand trucks; transport parts and materials as needed.
- Maintain records of parts received and issued; inventory parts in the warehouse as needed.
- Audit parts inventory to maintain accuracy.
- Work in areas with temperature variations based on weather conditions.
- Maintain a safe working environment and keep the work area clean.
- Assist with various tasks as requested.
Requirements
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as a team.
- Good communication skills and great attention to detail.
- Quick learner with the ability to meet goals.
- Forklift experience is required.
- Basic math and tape measure skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Welding experience is a plus but not required.
