About the position

The Warehouse & Inventory Associate at Avidex Industries plays a crucial role in managing and tracking inventory for incoming and outgoing transactions. This position is essential for maintaining an organized and secure warehouse environment, supporting the Operations team, and ensuring efficient inventory movement to job sites. The associate will also handle vendor interactions regarding returns and product status updates, contributing to seamless inventory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming inventory; report any damage to vendors and update purchase order (PO) receipts in the system.
  • Organize and store inventory to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse.
  • Stage and pull inventory for job site release according to job schedules, ensuring accuracy and security of all items.
  • Manage consignment materials and maintain min/max inventory levels.
  • Process and document returns to vendors, coordinating with accounting as needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load and unload trucks.
  • Arrange shipments with appropriate carriers (e.g., Freight lines, UPS, FedEx).
  • Track incoming inventory to notify the team of delays and ensure space availability for secured storage.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Dress appropriately for delivery to various site conditions, including client offices and outdoor construction areas.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Attend required training classes and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Office, and inventory control software; ERP experience is preferred.
  • Certified in forklift operation with knowledge of various material-handling equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, with seasonal temperature variations.
  • High commitment to workplace safety.
  • Must comply with company driving standards.
  • Physical capability to handle lifting (50+ pounds), and various movements such as bending, reaching, squatting, and climbing.
