About the position

As a member of the Logistics Division at Wakefern Food Corp., the Warehouse Admin Clerk will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative functions of the warehouse. This position involves performing data entry tasks related to receiving, store invoicing, and delivery administration receipts. The clerk will also provide essential services to warehouse operations, ensuring that requests for retail, perishable, and grocery warehouse operations are fulfilled efficiently. The work schedule is structured as a split work week, requiring flexibility to work any five days out of seven, which may not include traditional weekends off. The first shift runs from 4 AM to 12 PM, with the possibility of adjusting to 7 AM to 3 PM for coverage as needed. The core functions of this role include providing operational and administrative support for the Produce Ripening Program, assisting management in maintaining high sanitation and safety standards, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the warehouse. The Warehouse Admin Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate program-related files and reports, performing warehouse receiving, shipping, and inventory control functions, and interacting with supervision, transportation staff, vendors, and the affiliated workforce. Adherence to company policies and accuracy in all tasks is essential, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. To succeed in this role, the candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with some college education preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and rapid inventory applications is essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines are crucial. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required, along with flexibility regarding work schedules, including frequent overtime and weekend shifts. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs is desired, or equivalent work experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry for receiving, store invoicing, and delivery administration receipts.
  • Provide necessary service to warehouse operations to fulfill requests for retail, perishable, and grocery warehouse operations.
  • Support all aspects of the Produce Ripening Program operationally and administratively.
  • Assist management in maintaining high sanitation and safety standards in the warehouse.
  • Maintain accurate program-related files and reports.
  • Perform warehouse receiving, shipping, and inventory control functions.
  • Interact with supervision, transportation staff, vendors, and the affiliated workforce regarding selection, receiving, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure proper adherence to policy and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Be flexible to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • 1 year of warehouse experience required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and rapid inventory applications preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Flexibility with regard to working a 5 out of 7-day schedule and varying work hours.
