About the position

The Vulnerability Assessments Analyst - Red Team Contractor role involves participating in the Adversary Emulation program and assisting with the Special Projects Tiger Team. The primary focus is on conducting internal network and application reconnaissance to identify violations and observations, which will be reported for remediation. The role requires collaboration with the Red Team to perform penetration testing and support discovery and remediation efforts related to sensitive data storage by employees.

Responsibilities

  • Support Client's Red Team in Penetration testing reconnaissance of internal data repositories.
  • Conduct searches of electronically stored data to extract relevant data efficiently.
  • Prepare data for internal review and reporting.
  • Report on identified findings.
  • Work closely with data and control owners on remediation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of reconnaissance tools and regular expressions to identify data.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on issues and provide guidance on corrective actions leveraging risk and impact action.
  • Reduce risk by analyzing the root cause of issues, their impact, and required corrective actions.
  • Assist in assessing risk when making business decisions.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' experience or equivalent knowledge and exposure in vulnerability assessments and related fields.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Regular Expressions, Scanning Tools, and Data Mining Tools.
  • Experience with Data Repositories such as Confluence, Bit Bucket, and Github.
  • Familiarity with Offensive security testing tools like Cobalt Strike and Red Team Toolkit.
  • Understanding of the OSI model and security devices including Firewalls, VPN, and AAA systems.
  • Knowledge of OS Security across Unix/Linux, Windows, and OSX.
  • Understanding of common protocols such as HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and DNS.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry-accredited security certifications (e.g., PNPT, OSCP, GXPN, GPEN, GCIH, GWAPT, GCFA) are preferred but not required.
