About the position

The VP Sales at Surescripts is responsible for leading the sales strategy to achieve revenue growth aligned with the company's strategic plan. This role involves building long-lasting relationships with executive-level customers, guiding them in acquiring and expanding Surescripts' products and services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in health IT sales and a proven track record in selling services to pharmaceutical manufacturers. The VP Sales will also collaborate with various teams to identify growth opportunities and ensure profitability across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the interests of customers in assigned market segments to influence requirements for new, upgraded, or expanded products and services.
  • Manage a team of account executives to define and execute customer acquisition and retention strategies, drive strategic alignment, achieve product-specific growth objectives, and deliver operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain a sales plan to deliver on corporate financial objectives.
  • Achieve sales targets aligned with Surescripts' strategic plan, ensuring sales-dependent revenue meets or exceeds financial goals.
  • Design compensation structures that align with corporate financial targets while motivating sales team members.
  • Develop business models and negotiate terms directly with the largest and most complex clients in the portfolio.
  • Lead and participate in various internal and external strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level internal and external relationships.
  • Ensure appropriate pipeline tracking and reporting to all levels of the organization.
  • Build new skills in the organization and align sales talent to corporate objectives.
  • Build relationships with partner groups (Finance, Product, Marketing) to influence corporate direction and ensure alignment across functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in related, progressive roles.
