About the position

The Vice President of Sales at Clever Care Health Plan is responsible for leading the sales organization to achieve membership and revenue targets. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, overseeing daily sales activities, and collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance and effective marketing strategies. The VP of Sales will also play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare by making it accessible to underserved communities through innovative sales strategies and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategic sales plan to achieve the membership targets established by the Board of Directors.
  • Develop successful sales strategies to optimize the sales environment.
  • Provide leadership to FMOs and independent brokers/agents.
  • Negotiate FMO contracts and marketing co-op programs.
  • Collaborate with key PCP partners to achieve mutual growth objectives in the market.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team for campaigns, methods, and collateral to ensure consistent branding across advertising campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS and State guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain compliant procedures, documentation, and workflows for sales.
  • Develop an annual marketing and sales calendar.
  • Develop a customer relationship management (CRM) approach to track outreach attempts and maintain a compliant sales organization.
  • Develop staffing, training, and motivation strategies necessary to implement the sales plan.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop compensation schedule recommendations.
  • Develop and execute a recruitment strategy to ensure a qualified sales force is in place.
  • Develop training materials that comply with CMS requirements and business needs.
  • Provide competitive intelligence regarding product attributes in target markets.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to establish training and audit procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Seven years of experience in a sales leadership position with a strong track record of success.
  • Two years of experience in a Director or VP level leadership role.
  • Five years of experience in leadership positions at Medicare Advantage Sales organizations.
  • Three years of experience working in a multicultural environment, particularly in the Asian market.
  • Four years of experience in a selling role that required knowledge of sales technology and CRM software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Vietnamese, Korean, or Mandarin.
  • Strong compliance record.
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods.
  • History of achieving or exceeding membership targets.
  • Strong bias toward analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.
