About the position

The VP of Design/Mechanical Engineering will lead a team of design and mechanical engineers to develop innovative sUAS product lines and peripherals. This role focuses on driving the design development process, ensuring products meet customer and market needs, and optimizing designs for mass manufacturing while maintaining quality and usability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a world-class team of design and mechanical engineers in creating innovative sUAS product lines and peripherals.
• Drive the design development and iteration process in partnership with the product and sales teams to align with customer and market needs.
• Create design concepts, artifacts, and user experience review materials to guide product formation.
• Ensure designs are optimized for mass manufacturing and sustainment, focusing on durability and usability in the field.
• Collaborate with production, software, and hardware design teams to ensure seamless product development.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives based on customer feedback and real-world product performance.
• Champion innovation and quality in all aspects of product design and development.
• Direct experience with Production Mfg. processes such as CNC, Injection molds, Carbon Fiber layup and CFRP, Die cast, Stamped, or MIM parts.
• Electromechanical assembly design experience.
• Direct experience using enterprise grade design software: Catia, Siemens, Solidworks, etc.

Requirements

• 6 years of experience in design and mechanical engineering.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with assembly and SolidWorks at a senior level.
• Associate's degree in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in CATIA.
