About the position

The position involves a multifaceted role that encompasses client education and support, insurance brokerage, claims advocacy, risk consulting, and business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating clients on management liability risks throughout the company lifecycle, organizing training sessions, and maintaining relationships with clients and insurers. They will also act as an advocate for clients during the claims process, providing expert advice and coordinating with various parties to ensure fair resolutions. Additionally, the role requires conducting risk assessments, providing strategic guidance, and identifying new business opportunities to expand market share.

Responsibilities

  • Educate clients on management liability risks at all stages of company lifecycle, including M&A and public company readiness.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions or webinars for clients on legal and regulatory updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Assess client needs and recommend appropriate insurance coverage options.
  • Stay up-to-date on trends, products, and market developments in professional liability insurance.
  • Act as the point of contact and advocacy for clients throughout the claims process.
  • Assist clients with claims strategy and coordinate with insurers and legal teams for resolution.
  • Provide expert advice on claims merits, potential exposures, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze claims trends and advise clients on strategies to minimize future liabilities.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for clients and provide strategic guidance on risk mitigation.
  • Assist clients in understanding emerging liabilities and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and present risk management reports and recommendations to senior management teams.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities targeting new clients.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in target markets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand market share.
  • Participate in networking events and industry conferences to build brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create proposals and presentations.
  • Assist in cross-selling other risk management services to existing clients.
  • Track and report on business development activities.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in M&A insurance brokerage, claims management, legal or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of risks facing Directors & Officers, corporate governance, and legal principles.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker (or achieved within 90 days).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours.
  • Legally able to work in the United States.
