About the position

The Used Car Technician at Volvo Cars White Plains is responsible for diagnosing and performing mechanical reconditioning work on various vehicle brands. This role emphasizes efficiency and adherence to dealership standards while ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery. Responsibilities

• Diagnose & perform mechanical reconditioning work on all brands with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Internal Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.

Requirements

• New York State inspector's license
• Previous experience at an automotive dealership
• Strong understanding of the service drive
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand and excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic computer competencies
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Willingness to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check.
