About The Position

Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) is a growing and dynamic social service agency with expertise in emergency and permanent housing, job training and placement, and prevention services for individuals and families in need. Over the next five years, our strategic focus includes an increase in affordable, supportive housing, a more efficient model of care for families experiencing homelessness, commitment to an enhanced delivery model to reduce the need for shelter, and improved community relations in order to achieve these goals. Our staff are thoughtful and caring individuals who share our passion for these ideals and creative approaches to helping people improve their lives. The Development Intern will assist the Development office by responding to email inquiries, forwarding emails and messages to the appropriate staff members, supporting the Development Operations team, and entering volunteer hours and donation information into the appropriate CRM. The Development Intern will be supervised by the Director of Volunteer Services and work closely with the Community Engagement Specialist. The Development Assistant may be asked to support other areas of the development team as well, to ensure that donors, volunteers and potential volunteers are being responded to on a timely basis. This position will also work closely with the Development Operations Administrator and Gift Processor to ensure that acknowledgement letters are being sent out on a timely basis, which includes, but is not limited to printing, scanning, folding, and stuffing mailers. The paid position is based out of FBMS’ administrative offices located on Belmont Street in Brockton. The internship is seasonal, with hours decreasing slightly during the summer months, with the opportunity to continue through the academic year with flexible hours based on student’s class schedule. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit work to gain hands-on experience in fundraising, donor relations, and volunteerism.
