About the position

The Voluntary Claims Specialist I at Lincoln Financial Group is responsible for administering, processing, and adjudicating claims related to Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity for members. This role involves thorough training to develop necessary skills and provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment, primarily from home.

Responsibilities

• Communicating with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather information regarding Voluntary Claims.
• Reviewing submitted claim information for payment using knowledge of coverage, contract provisions, eligibility, and benefits.
• Applying knowledge of voluntary insurance products and claims processes to address questions and concerns from stakeholders.
• Making routine and non-routine decisions under supervision, applying limited discretion within the role.
• Providing exceptional customer service and proactively recognizing customer and claimant needs.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 0-1+ years of general experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
