About the position

The VOIP Administrator position is a specialized role within the Information Systems Division, focusing on advanced professional computer and systems support. The incumbent will troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex hardware and software issues while providing support for large and complex systems and applications. This role requires a high level of independent judgment and technical expertise, with responsibilities that may include supervising lower-level staff and leading projects related to information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized and complex duties to support information technology systems.
• Design and develop components of current or new systems and analyze user requirements.
• Provide specialized support to maintain existing systems and assess operational problems.
• Conduct complex analytical duties in planning, developing, and evaluating local and wide area networks.
• Investigate and resolve network-related problems and recommend improvements.
• Monitor network security and performance, identifying potential risks.
• Develop and maintain the County's Internet and Intranet sites, including writing code and creating database connections.
• Perform technical writing for system documentation and manuals.
• Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions for users.
• Participate in professional group meetings to stay updated on IT trends.

Requirements

• Advanced understanding of complex analytical procedures and processes.
• Experience in systems analysis, development, and client support for large systems.
• Knowledge of local and wide area network design, security, and administration.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex information system problems.
• Experience in technical writing and developing training materials.
