Vogelweid Special Education Aide

About the position

The position is located at the Vogelweid Learning Center at St. Peter Catholic School in Jefferson City, MO. The role involves assisting teachers in implementing educational and behavioral interventions for students with varying cognitive and academic levels. The assistant will work with students in general education classrooms and may also pull out individuals or small groups to help them develop to their fullest potential.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the implementation of educational and behavioral interventions.
• Work with individuals and/or small groups.
• Adapt classroom activities, assignments, or materials to the instructional range of students.
• Perform related duties as assigned in various school settings to provide a safe and positive environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge-based competencies in grammar, reading, math, science, and social studies.
• Maintenance of confidentiality.
• Flexibility in scheduling and activities throughout the school day.
• Ability to communicate and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues, teachers, students, parents, and administrators.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional experience working with special needs students preferred.
