About the position

The Retail Visual Specialist at Boscov's Department Store is responsible for ensuring effective visual merchandising across the selling floor. This role involves collaborating with store and department managers to execute visual merchandising programs that enhance customer engagement and satisfaction. The position is ideal for individuals with a background in visual merchandising or customer service, offering a chance to grow within a reputable retail environment known for quality and value.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper visual merchandising of the entire selling floor.
• Establish professional rapport with coworkers and customers to enhance the customer experience.
• Partner with Store and Department managers to execute seasonal Prototype presentations.
• Execute departmental and storewide visual merchandising programs and floor moves.
• Update and maintain mannequins/forms/presentations based on new receipts or trends.
• Educate departments on Back to Basics standards, floor sets, merchandising, and wallscaping.
• Execute cosmetics and promotional calendars.
• Execute window presentations where applicable.
• Grid fixtures and adjust accent lighting.
• Order visual properties following Corporate guidelines.
• Perform daily morning floor walk to determine tasks to be accomplished.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the stock/work area.
• Attend meetings and training sessions with Corporate.
• Handle email communication and basic paperwork.

Requirements

• 2 years of visual merchandising experience, preferably in a department store environment.
• Experience in merchandising and styling with knowledge of current trends.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand floor plans and planograms.
• Comfortable operating a computer and open to learning new programs and systems.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision.
